At The Speech House we take great pride in our attention to detail with the ultimate aim being to provide you with your perfect wedding day.

Every wedding is individually planned with our experienced wedding co-ordinators to ensure that you have a wedding that is tailor made just for you. A meeting to plan your day will be held approximately 8 weeks prior to your wedding, however, in the preceding weeks or months, we are always happy to answer any questions and give advice.

We have 36 en-suite bedrooms at The Speech House for any of your guests who may require accommodation and offer a ten percent discount for bookings of ten rooms or more. The bedrooms vary in style and are priced to accommodate all budgets.

Civil ceremonies are mostly held in the Verderers Court which is still used today by the Verderers to make decisions about our beautiful forest, of which The Speech House marks the centre. Your ceremony can be personalised with readings, music or poetry and we are here to help and advise with this important part of the proceedings. You can be married on any day of the week and need to be book your ceremony directly with the registrars, however it is important to liaise with your chosen venue regarding timings prior to booking.

Further options for ceremonies would be a civil ceremony, as above, followed by a blessing, a traditional church wedding or a European marriage ceremony. The European ceremony is usually preceded by a very small civil ceremony with the majority of your guests attending the church and is almost identical to a traditional wedding. You are not required to be on the parish register for this type of ceremony.

Your ceremony would normally be followed by welcome drinks and canapés served to your guests in the Orangery and garden. The Orangery can be hired exclusively for this part of your day.

The main wedding breakfast is held in the Court or Edwin Tauber Suite depending on your numbers. We serve coffee and petit fours in the Orangery after which dancing to our resident DJ takes place in the Edwin Tauber Suite for up to 200+ guests. Wherever possible we are extremely flexible and would ask you to come to us with your ideas.
